Lonestar Artisans
The Situation

John wanted a portal for artists from Lonestar, to come together to collaborate and profit from their work, where the noble of craftsmanship could be promoted and reach a larger clientele. He had very clear idea about the design he wanted and the features the website should have in order to showcase artists’ work, commercial products and blog articles too.

E-commerce was a must, and to be an integral part of this product showcase, to enable people to actually make purchases, or even get in touch for some custom development. To target individuals as well architecture or related industry was the main motive behind this portal. At an initial phase, the website would mainly target John’s own work like his custom furniture or cutting boards. Hence shopping cart was to be designed, keeping that in mind, like ability to choose variation in products, variety of wood used, gifting the article, etc.

The Solution

We decided to built Lonestar Artisan’s theme right from scratch, building a custom backend for the artists’ products, gallery and e-commerce settings. We decided to use DukaPress, an open source WordPress cart plugin developed by us, which has many features like inventory tracking, payment gateways, discount management, single page checkout etc. We customized the cart to enable gifting (different billing and shipping addresses), variation in product and size selection.

For effective browsing of products, we enabled product gallery slider, related products, ability to order/ enquire about custom products, etc. To spread the word around, we developed blog with social media integration having same look and feel. With our attention to detail at every aspect of the site development and John’s passion for his work, the Lonestar Artisan has already grabbed attention of its niche audience.

Our Client Says ...

I was very nervous about hiring a contractor to develop my website because I am not sophisticated in IT and I had some difficult (and particular) project requirements. Of 18 firms who submitted bids, I short-listed 3 and ultimately chose NetMadeEz. Parshwa did a superb job on my website. He was extremely responsive, available to answer all questions promptly. He anticipated most of the potential challenges with the project and quickly came up with appropriate technical solutions. Most importantly, I trust him. I believe he demonstrated a lot of integrity in how he handled this project. I am extremely pleased with NetMadeEz and will certainly hire them again for my next project. Well done, Parshwa!
