The Situation

Shakti Rising is a social change organization transforming the lives of women, girls, and the larger community. Publishing their events, services, motto, news and such to a larger audience through an online presence, they hoped to help women discover their services and join their ever growing community.

Also, it would be a gathering place for their growing community–connecting with people all over the world to share events, stories and build the community. It would be a portal where people can discover about Shakti Rising, their services and support the cause. Also, it would ideally be a space for women - to play, explore and connect with other women.

The Solution

WordPress was the best solution for the brand new website of Shakti Rising, as its features could be very well be customized to include multiple custom WordPress templates for inner pages, metaboxes to assign post category to a page, custom sidebars where widgets can be added with links related to the content, a widgetised footer with custom menus and much more.

Every time a person visits a page, its featured image appears in the header. Posts can be viewed by selecting one of their categories. The design provided to us in PSD had in itself much custom work. Specially the navigation and drop downs. Also on home page to resent certain blocks of data in a attractive way, at the same time to make it updatable easily, we provided theme options for the same.
